Privacy
We take your time seriously. We take your information seriously too.
What we collect
When you contact us through the website, sign a FriendDA, request access to a gated product page, or complete a form to join our network or invest, we collect the information you give us. Typically this is your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, and any context you share about why you're reaching out.
When you visit the site, our hosting platform (Vercel) records standard server logs: IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps. We do not run third-party advertising trackers, third-party fingerprinting, or social pixels.
Why we collect it
We're building a long-term ecosystem of products that depend on knowing the people in our network. The information you share lets us remember who you are, route you to the right opportunity, and follow up with relevant work.
Specifically: to send you confirmations and follow-ups about your inquiry, to coordinate with you on collaborations, to verify eligibility for investment participation, and to maintain an internal index of our network for future outreach.
Where it lives
Your information is stored in our private Airtable workspace (the Onto Social Graph), accessible only to the core Onto team. Emails are routed through Resend on our behalf. Investment-related materials are exchanged directly with us; we do not pass investor information to third-party platforms without your explicit consent.
We do not sell your information. We do not share your information with marketers. We do not use your information to train external AI models.
A note about text messages
Some of you may hear from us by text. We send those messages through Mailchimp, only to people who have opted in, no more than a couple of times a month. Reply "STOP" to any text and Mailchimp will permanently unsubscribe your number.
Because text messaging has its own carrier rules, we keep the full SMS terms on a separate page. There is a link to it just below.
What you can do
You can ask us at any time what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop contacting you. Email oi@onto.eco with the request and we will action it within thirty days.
If you have signed a FriendDA, ending that contact does not retroactively unwind the confidentiality obligation you took on. The FriendDA stands on its own; the privacy obligations on us stand on their own.
Updates
We will update this page when our practices change. The effective date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes that affect what we do with previously-collected information will be communicated to you by email.
For our full SMS terms, see the SMS Terms page.
